Part.1: In-Game Tournament Stages This Global Festival "Call of the Abyss II" consists of three stages - Steam City, High Tower and Road to Abyss:
  • 1. Steam City - The Global Festival will be officially launched after maintenance on January 3, 2019 ('Asian' and 'NA-EU' servers simultaneously). Registered team members can participate in the tournament and earn a large amount of exclusive rewards. Participants can obtain "Steam City Points" from the tournament. The top 50 teams from each region will advance to compete in the next stage.
  • 2. High Tower - The Global Festival will be officially launched after maintenance on January 17, 2019. The top 50 teams from the Steam City stage in each region can participate in the High Tower stage and obtain "High Tower Points". The top 4 teams from each region will receive additional rewards and will qualify for the Call of the Abyss II (COAII) Reginal Finals Stage.
  • 3. Road to Abyss - In the team ranking stage, the top 4 teams from each region will be invited to participate in the subsequent COA II Regional Finals Stage.
Part. 2: In-Game Tournament Registration
  • 1. The registration period for the Global Festival is from January 3, 2019 (after maintenance) to 23:59:59 on January 15, 2019 (UTC +8).
  • 2. Sign up as a team. Team members can participate in the Global Festival once the team leader registers the team.
  • 3. Once registered for the Global Festival, the competing team cannot be disbanded during the tournament.
  • 4. If a team member leaves the registered team, they will have to temporarily withdraw from the Global Festival. If this member wishes to further participate in the event, they can choose to create or join a new team and re-register or join a registered team directly.
  • *When players (excl. mainland China) want to join or create a team, the team captain need to select one of the following divisions based on his/her location and the server’s location: HK&MO&TW, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia (SEA), and NA-EU. Divisions will not be able to adjust after selection.

    *Each team can accommodate 1 to 7 players, but the team points will take the sum of 5 team members' points and will be calculated in a way to get the highest team points (more specific rules are subject to the game).

    *For the regional finals and the global finals, each team needs to have at least 5 members. Over half of the team members are required to be permanent residents of the participating region. You can view the participating region in game.

    *Note: you will not be able to quit, dismiss and join a team after the event has been open for a period of time. Please pay attention to the event registration time and the member replacement time allowed (please check more specific rules in game).

Part.3: In-Game Rewards Individual Rewards
  • 1. Steam City - During the official launch of the Global Festival, any Matching, Ranking or Duo Hunters mode that registered team members participate in will unlock the Global Festival Battles (no need to pass through the Abyss Matching or Abyss Ranking).
  • 2. The Global Festival Individual Battles will unlock the Global Festival's Main Theme Graffiti, Abyss Treasure, Rare Accessories, and other rewards when it reaches a different tier.
  • 3. If Individual Battles are too low, no Global Festival Individual Battle will be gained (Matching and Ranking mode cannot be lower than 1,500 points, and Duo Hunters mode cannot be lower than 3,000 points).
  • 4. Global Festival Individual Battles will last until the event is over.
Team Rewards
  • 1. During the Steam City stage, registered team members can accumulate Team Abyss Battles through Abyss Matching and Abyss Ranking.
  • 2. When Team Abyss Battles reaches a different tier, all team members will receive the Global Festival's Main Theme Portrait, Pets and other rewards.
  • 3. Players must have been in a team for more than 12 hours and accumulate 10 Individual Abyss Battles in order to obtain Team Abyss Battles Rewards.
Part.4: Earning Steam City Points
  • 1. During the Steam City stage, team members can accumulate Steam City Points through Abyss Matches and Abyss Rank Matches.
  • 2. The Abyss Matches are available from 12 pm to 10 pm, and Abyss Rank Matches are the same as the normal Rank Matches (server time).
  • 3. There is a daily game limit and a total game limit to obtain Steam City Points during the event. The daily game limit of Survivors and Hunters is 6 rounds each, and the total game limit of Survivors and Hunters is 60 rounds each during the event.
  • 4. Using Survivors to participate in matches will increase "Survivors Steam City Points", and using Hunter to participate in matches will increase "Hunter Steam City Points".
  • 5. Player's individual contribution, match outcome, individual score and ranking will affect the final Steam City Points.
  • 6. Select 1 team member's "Hunter Steam City Points" multiplied by 2 plus the other 4 team members' "Survivors Steam City Points", to get the "Team Steam City Points" (select with the goal of obtaining the highest amount of "Team Steam City Points").
Part. 5: Using Steam City Points
  • 1. "Team Steam City Points" is used to calculate the team's ranking in the Steam City stage. The top 50 team members from each region will receive the [Call of the Abyss II - High Tower] Themed Portrait Frame [Robot Tentacles], and will qualify to enter the High Tower stage.
  • 2. When a team member is removed from the team by the team leader, "Team Steam City Points" will no longer reflect the member's contribution. The member's individual "Survivors Steam City Points" and "Hunter Steam City Points" will not be affected.
  • 3. When a team member withdraws from the team voluntarily, the member's "Survivors Steam City Points" and "Hunter Steam City Points" will be halved. However, "Team Steam City Points" will not be affected unless another team member has contributed more points than the member who withdrew from the team.
  • 4. Starting from 00:00 on January 14, 2019 (UTC +8) teams can no longer replace team members until the end of the Steam City stage.
Part.6: Earning High Tower Points
  • 1. High Tower stage - In the Steam City stage, the top 50 teams from each region will enter through a special portal in the evening to obtain High Tower Points. The opening hours are from 19:00 - 21:00, from January 17 - 23, 2019.
  • 2. There is a daily game limit and a total game limit to obtain High Tower Points during the event. The daily game limit of Survivors and Hunters is 5 rounds each, and the total game limit of Survivors and Hunters is 20 rounds each during the event.
  • 3. Using Survivors to participate in matches will increase "Survivors High Tower Points", and using Hunter to participate in matches will increase "Hunter High Tower Points".
  • 4. Players' individual contribution, match outcome and individual score will affect the final High Tower Points.
  • 5. Select 1 team member's "Hunter High Tower Points" multiplied by 2 plus the other 4 team members' "Survivors High Tower Points", and it equals "Team High Tower Points" (select with the goal of obtaining the highest amount of "Team High Tower Points").
Part.7: Using High Tower Points
  • 1. "Team High Tower Points" is used to calculate the team's ranking in the High Tower stage and will be rewarded according to their rankings. The top 4 team members from each region will receive the [Call of the Abyss II - Road to Abyss] Main Theme's Portrait Frame [Evil Look].
  • 2. Join the Team High Tower Points leaderboard. Each region's team ranking will be updated in real time.

Part.3: Prerequisites
  • 1. The match will use the officially provided tournament server and corresponding versions.
  • 2. Tournament Device: Players must use mobile phones during online tournaments (PCs or simulators are strictly prohibited).
  • 3. Communication Device: Players must only use the official designated online communication software to communicate with the referee.
  • 4. During the online tournament, players have to use their own account to compete. Using another player's account is strictly prohibited.
  • 5. Pre-Match Authentication
    ① Player Authentication
    During the Online Qualifier Stage, the referee and the players will have a video conversation 30 minutes prior to the match in order to complete the identity authentication and recording. Recordings will be saved.

    ② Device/IP Authentication
    Two days prior to the tournament, the event administrator will request players to login to the event setup using the IP address that will be used during the tournament. The organizer will record the player's IP address and device number at that time.
    If player's actual information differs from that of previously recorded information, the event administrator will seek clarification from the player and record it again. The organizing committee will determine whether the player's explanation is reasonable. If it is deemed unreasonable, the player and the corresponding team will be disqualified.
  • 6. Lost Connection Procedure
    During the tournament, players are responsible for their own network connection.
    - In the event of a player losing connection, the referee has the right to request a continuation of the match with the match results being considered valid.
    - In the event of the following occurring, the referee and the organizing committee will determine whether there will be a rematch:
    ① The player's connection is severely unstable or loses connection within the first 60 seconds of the match
    ② The game server is behaving abnormally, causing the game to freeze
    ③ Other circumstances that have an irreversible effect on the game
  • Note: Selection of all characters must be the same during a rematch.

Part.4: Specific Requirements
  • 1. For the regional finals and the global finals, each team needs to have at least 5 members. Over half of the team members are required to be permanent residents of the participating region. Before the tournament, teams need to confirm their starting line-up with the referee. In each BO3 match (no mid-game substitution), teams have one chance to use a substitute player. In each BO5 match, teams have two chances to use a substitute player. Players who have been switched out cannot re-enter the match.
  • 2. Age: Hong Kong&Macau&Taiwan/Japan/South Korea/South East Asia/NA-EU: Only participants aged 16 and above (turned 16 before February 28, 2019) can participate. Participants under the age of 18 need a signed Guardian Consent Letter.
  • 3. Special Statement: The qualified Online Qualifier Team will participate in the Global Finals held in Shanghai and is required to obtain a travel visa to China. Air tickets and hotel expenses will be covered by NetEase. Participants aged 16 - 18 can be accompanied by 1 or more Guardian(s). NetEase will cover the air ticket and hotel expenses of 1 Guardian. Global finalists are expected to arrive in Shanghai by April 24, 2019. The tournament is expected to last 6 - 8 days.
  • 4. Live Broadcast Copyrights: All documents, images and audio-visual materials related to the current tournament are owned by the event organizer and tournament organizer. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited and violators will be prosecuted. Documents related to this tournament include:
    (1) Documents: Text, Game Replays
    (2) Images: Graphic visuals, overall event theme designs, and official event photos
    (3) Videos: Game tournament recordings, video production design, tournament video packaging, promotional videos, trailers, and on-site videos
  • 5. Tournament Objections
    (1) In the event of a dispute during the tournament, the team leader and players must defer to the referee. If a participant disagrees with the referee's decision, they can appeal to the tournament committee by following the appeal procedure.
    (2) The player's appeal procedure is to contact the referee on duty to appeal after the end of each game.
  • 6. Violations and Penalties
    (1) It is forbidden to use any third-party software to modify in-game contents, such as game interfaces, sound effects, character skills, etc. If any player violates this rule, the team will be disqualified from the tournament and any prizes will be void. Individuals will be banned from live broadcasts and prohibited from participating.
    (2) It is forbidden to use items and characters obtained from non-Identity V games during the tournament, or items and characters that are not officially released. If any player violates this rule, the team will be disqualified from the tournament and any prizes will be void. Individuals will be banned from live broadcasts and prohibited from participating.
    (3) It is forbidden to use external hardware except headphones. If there is a special use requirement, players need to seek consent in advance from the referee on duty. If any player violates this rule, the team will be disqualified from the tournament and any prizes will be void. Individuals will be banned from live broadcasts and prohibited from participating.
  • 7. Match Fixing & Negative Behavior: Participants (or teams) should promote the spirit of sportsmanship during the tournament, prohibit negative behavior, and match fixing. If discovered, participants (or teams) will be disqualified with immediate effect, permanently banned from tournaments, and all prizes and reimbursements due to the team will be void.
Part.5: Specific Rules
  • 1. Tournament Mode: Legendary Rules (there can be no duplicate characters in the same game)
  • 2. Tournament Structure: Each round is divided into the first half and the second half. In the first half, 4 Survivors from Team A will play against a Hunter from Team B. In the second half, 4 Survivors from Team B will play against a Hunter from Team A.
  • 3. BP Rules
    Map Selection: Before the start of each match, the leaders from both teams will toss a coin and choose a side, and the winner selects the map for the first round. The map in the first and second half is the same. The loser selects the order of the line-ups, and both sides will take turns with the selection order thereafter.
    Number of Character Blocks: In the first round of BO3 matches characters are not blocked. Each team can block one character in the second round, and two characters in the third round. In the first round of BO5 matches characters are not blocked. Each team will block one character in the second round, two characters in the third round, and three characters in the fourth and fifth round. Characters need to be re-blocked during the first and second half of each match.
    Character BP Sequence: The BP sequence of each round is fixed at 1-1-1-1 (once every round), namely:
    - Survivors block the Hunter faction
    - Hunter blocks the Survivor faction
    - Survivors select characters
    - Hunter selects character
  • 4. Point Accumulation Rules
    Each half round, teams will obtain the corresponding points according to the following rules:
    At the end of the game, if the number of escaped Survivors is 0, then Survivors will receive 0 point and the Hunter will receive 5 points
    At the end of the game, if the number of escaped Survivors is 1, then Survivors will receive 1 point and the Hunter will receive 3 points
    At the end of the game, if the number of escaped Survivors is 2, then Survivors will receive 2 points and the Hunter will receive 2 points
    At the end of the game, if the number of escaped Survivors is 3, then Survivors will receive 3 points and the Hunter will receive 1 point
    At the end of the game, if the number of escaped Survivors is 4, then Survivors will receive 5 points and the Hunter will receive 0 point

    Note: The condition for determining the outcome of each round is the sum of points from the first and second half. The team with the highest points will be the winner and vice versa. Teams will result in a tie if points are the same.

  • 5. Tiebreaker Rules
    the case of a tie in BO3 or BO5 (such as 1 Win, 1 Tie, 1 Loss):
    ① Priority will be given to teams with the highest cumulative points throughout the tournament;
    ② If the cumulative points turns out to be a tie again, there will be an additional round. The winner will be determined by comparing the cumulative points from both teams.
    ③ If both teams still have the same points in the additional match, the first deciding factor is to look at both teams' escapes during their rounds as Survivors: 1) if at least one of the Survivors escaped, the Survivor's match duration is used as the basis for deciding the winning team. The team with the fastest time wins; 2) if neither team escaped as a Survivor, the Hunter's match duration is used as the basis for deciding the winning team. The team with the fastest time wins.

    Note: 3 Characters are banned in BO3 and BO5 additional rounds.

  • 6. Forfeiting: In principle, teams are forbidden to forfeit. However, if the team insists on forfeiting, the organizing committee of the tournament will waive the team's rights to participate in the tournament by default. Matches involving the team will be handled on a rotation basis, and the committee reserves the rights to penalize the forfeiting team.
Part.1: Global Finals Overview
  • 16 Teams from all over the world will attend the Global Festival, Call of the Abyss II a.k.a. Global Finals in Shanghai, China from April 26 - 28, 2019. Overseas teams are required to obtain travel visas to China.
Part.2: Prizepool
  • Total prize pool for the COA II Global Finals is 1,000,000 RMB! Prize money will be divided amongst teams according to their final position (1st - 38%, 2nd - 18%, 3rd - 12%, 4th - 8%, 5th to 8th - 3% and 9th to 16th - 1.5%).
Part.3: Global Finals Requirements
  • 1. Participant's Age: Hong Kong&Macau&Taiwan/Japan/South Korea/South East Asia/NA-EU —— Only participants aged 16 and above (turned 16 before February 28, 2019) can participate. Participants under the age of 18 need a signed Guardian Consent Letter.
