January 16 Update Overview
[Penrose Maze]
- The Penrose Maze prize pool is updated. Make a draw using Sealing Wax for a chance to win [S-rarity Accessory] Seer - Forbidden Prophecy, [S-rarity Furniture] Meditation, [A-rarity Pet] Prowl, [Dish] Survivor - Wise Salmon, [Dish] Survivor - Sequana's Spring, A-rarity Costumes from previous Season Essence, and more. (Duplicate furniture from the prize pool will be converted into Fragments and will not grant Melody Points.).
- The Seer's new SS-rarity Costume "Prophet of Yore" is now available for exchange at 7,000 Nightingale's Blessings. (Upon obtaining this costume, you will also receive exclusive rewards, including [Emote] Seer - Touch, Dynamic Portrait Frame, Dynamic Portrait, Dynamic Graffiti, and Exclusive Label.)

[Fires of Renewal]
- As the New Year approaches, people step out of their cozy homes to prepare for the festivities and decorate the streets. This year, Chinatown has welcomed three new friends who share a passion for antiques. Together with the Antique Appraiser, they have organized an exciting "Tang Sancai Exhibition" to celebrate the season. They are breathing life into plain ceramic pieces by adding vivid colors and reviving stories from the past.
The Chinese New Year event, "Fires of Renewal," has kicked off with Phase I: Tang Brushstrokes. Additional phases will unlock on January 23 and January 28.
Event 1: New Year Preparations
Log in daily and visit the Tang Sancai Display to claim exciting rewards, including Clues, Fragments, Trial Cards, Portrait, and more!
Event 2: Ceramic Dreamscape
Participate in Quick Match, Ranked Match, Violent Struggle (Duo Hunters, Blackjack, Tarot, Chasing Shadows, Frenzy Rhapsody, and Hide and Seek), and Five-player Match to collect Glazes, with a daily limit of 10. Unused Glazes will carry over to the next day. Give your collected Glazes to the Painter to complete different tasks and earn rewards, including [Sticker] Perfect Remedy, [Graffiti] Doctor - Master Apothecary, and [Dish] General - Maltose Candy. You can gift your collected Glazes to friends through "Material Assistance," and Glazes given by friends will be sent via chat.

[New Game Mode: Scribbled Ideas]
- Combine the clues at hand, unleash your imagination, and recreate the history of this manor! The new game mode, [Scribbled Ideas], is now live. Visitors can explore maps created by others or design their own.
- Create Map Terrain: In the [Scribbled Ideas] editor, Visitors can build their own unique manors. Start by selecting templates like Sacred Heart Hospital, Moon River Park, or Chinatown. The editor offers a wide variety of components for decorating your map, with features that allow you to move, zoom, and rotate elements. Some components can be customized with different colors and materials, and you can also adjust the fog and filter effects for the entire map.
- Edit Gameplay Rules: In the [Scribbled Ideas] editor, Visitors can implement custom gameplay rules and modify attributes for characters, objects, and gameplay mechanics. Adjust settings like the Fear Limit for Survivors, the time needed to decode Cipher Machines, and playable characters. You can also set conditions and outcomes that trigger different results based on character actions, change attributes under specific conditions, and prevent characters from entering certain statuses. Additionally, you can modify team configurations, victory conditions, map areas, and random preset objects. Special components are available for editing more gameplay rules, such as escape areas, timers, and counters.
- Some characters and maps are not yet adapted to this game mode but will be gradually released in future versions.
- New events designed to complement the new game mode are now live. Complete map editing and play quests to earn [Graffiti] Scribbled Ideas, [Graffiti] Brimming Inspirations, Clues, A-rarity Costume Trial Cards, and more!

[Call of the Abyss VIII: Ancient Passage Phase Begins]
- After maintenance on January 16, 2025, Call of the Abyss VIII will enter its third phase, [Ancient Passage]. The top 100 teams (top 50 for certain regions) from [Leviathan Shore] will compete for points in [Ancient Passage]. The top 8 teams (top 5 for Japan) with the most points will qualify for the COA VIII Online Qualifier. If any of the top 8 teams (top 5 for Japan) have already qualified for the COA VIII Qualifier or Grand Final, the next team in line will be invited.
- Visitors can still accumulate Individual and Team Battle Counts to earn "Abyssal Whispers" and unlock rewards in "Wasteland Expedition."
[Combat]
- Optimized the Bloody Queen's normal attack judgment to match the animation.
- Added a quick message for the Rocket Chair Dismantling Progress.
[Experience Improvements]
- The Activity List Interface has been updated with an optimized title text display, new activity type labels, and a refined layout for activity posters.
- The Custom Sounds Settings now include volume controls for the following sound effects: Decoding Progress, Decoding Completion, Exit Gate Activation, Accelerated Decoding Reminder, Hunter Tier Upgrade, and Environmental Sounds.
- The Pursuit Music in the Custom Sounds Settings has been separated into two distinct categories: Survivor Pursuit Music and Hunter Pursuit Music, allowing independent volume adjustments for each.
[Bug Fixes]
- Fixed an issue where the Acrobat's subsequent rolls could be interrupted by silencing effects while using Bombs.
- Fixed an issue where the Aeroplanist would incorrectly traverse terrain after jetting in certain situations.
- Fixed an issue in Copycat mode where players could initiate an Emergency Meeting via radio after exiting Double Time during an Emergency Event.
- Fixed an issue in Copycat mode where player actions appeared abnormal during Emergency Meetings while spectating.
- Fixed an issue where the Emergency Meeting animation in Copycat Mode was abnormal in certain situations.
- Fixed an issue where the Novelist's Sketchbook animation experienced a delay.
- Fixed an issue where players in Copycat Mode could hear the elimination sound effects of other players from afar.
- Fixed an issue where abilities might be missing in Copycat mode (effective after downloading the latest client).
